Ginkgo Bioworks went public at the New York Stock Exchange with a display of Jurassic proportions, highlighting Ginkgo’s unwavering mission to create biology through and by design. Taking a surrealist approach, elements were blown to extreme proportions putting nature under a metaphorical microscope. 

The Gathery designed an installation that merged oversized optical art, suspended from the landmark building façade, with interactive live elements in the square below, transforming Lower Manhattan into a psychedelic field of sculptures where passersby could collect Ginkgo’s anticipated issue of Grow Magazine. Developed with social share-ability in mind and a commitment to utilizing recyclable materials, the awe-inspiring display beckoned passersby to re-imagine the infinite possibilities of biology.
