H&M

Cherish Waste

april 2022

H&M continues to work at the cutting-edge of technology, continually looking to scale and invest in new and existing innovations to make positive change and drive progress in sustainability within the fashion industry. In Spring 2022, the brand launched Cherish Waste, the latest drop in H&M’s Innovation Stories, a series of exclusive collections dedicated to promoting pioneering new materials, technologies, and processes.

To celebrate the launch, H&M once again partnered with The Gathery to create an immersive art and fashion exhibition that was constructed as a museum-like presentation, designed to entertain, but also educated visitors on the admirable and complex story of H&M’s sustainability efforts. Each installation in the exhibition, including a room-sized beating heart sound sculpture, demonstrated steps needed to effectively break down the fashion world’s untenable practices, and then rebuild the system using unexpected materials and forward-thinking technologies to institute an planet-friendly circular fashion system.

Set at Studio 525 gallery in Chelsea, New York’s most prominent arts district, the exhibition was open to the public and attracted a cultural crowd including fashion influencers, celebrities and leaders across creative industries.
